ST.“‘I’m DONE With This Nonsense!’ — Jessica Tarlov SNAPS at Bret Baier in Explosive On-Air Clash Over Washington’s Next Meltdown” Tensions boiled over on live TV when Jessica Tarlov abruptly cut off Bret Baier, slamming the table and shouting, “Enough with this!” as the two sparred over who would shoulder the blame for a looming government shutdown. The fiery exchange left the studio in stunned silence — and social media ablaze with debate. Viewers called it one of Fox News’s most chaotic moments of the year, as Tarlov’s outburst turned a routine policy discussion into prime-time fireworks.

With funding for the government set to run out at 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, Senate Republicans and Democrats have pointed fingers at each other. Although Republicans control the Senate 53-47, they need seven Democrats to vote for a continuing resolution to avert a shutdown. Sen. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and his conference are seeking an extension of Covid-era healthcare premium subsidies under the Affordable Care Act, a.k.a., Obamacare. However, Republicans have so far indicated they are unwilling to negotiate.
Schumer faced heavy criticism from fellow Democrats in March when he helped Republicans pass a six-month spending bill without getting any concessions in exchange.

“This is kind of simple, “Baier said of the continuing resolution. “This is a plain, fund-the-government continuing resolution.”
“But it’s a clean resolution inclusive of these cuts,” Tarlov replied, referring to the healthcare subsidies, which are set to expire at the end of the year. “When you look at what’s gonna happen with 114% hikes on the ACA premiums, that affects Democrats just as much as Republicans. And there are a lot of Republicans on Obamacare.”

“But that doesn’t stop until the end of the year,” Baier responded. ” So, you fund the government and–”
“Enough with this!” Tarlov interjected. “Who’s to say that they’re gonna sit down and negotiate with us afterwards?”
Tarlov said Republican leaders do not seem interested in negotiating with Democrats. She cited a bizarre social media post in which President Donald Trump shared an AI video of Schumer claiming that Democrats want to give healthcare to undocumented workers. That falsehood has been prevalent among Republicans, including Vice President JD Vance and Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA).
