SD. Best celebrity naked dresses of all time: All the daring red carpet dresses worn by our fave A-listers

Celebrity naked dresses have become something of a red carpet mainstay and, to be honest, we wouldn’t have it any other way. Not only do they require impressive skills from designers (like how do they even stay in place?), they’re also a totally fearless fashion choice, frequently turning up the heat at awards shows and beyond. Yep, in 2025, naked dresses are as commonplace at the supermarket as they are a movie premiere.
From iconic throwback moments – such as Rose McGowan’s famous MTV Video Music Awards look and, of course, Rihanna’s 100% sheer glitter dress – to the dresses that defined the last decade or so of red carpet history. We’re talking about Rita Ora, Kendall Jenner and Jennifer Lopez’s ongoing love of the sexy style at major events like the Met Gala and the Cannes Film Festival. Consider this your one-stop shop for the must-see, most risqué naked dresses ever worn by daring A-listers through the years.

Sydney Sweeney
Sydney Sweeney put her own spin on ‘knight in shining armour’ when she attended Variety‘s Power of Women event on October 29th, wearing a stunning silver chainmail gown by Christian Cowan. The actress looked *so* glamorous in the figure-hugging dress and left little to the imagination, choosing to go braless and free the nip in the totally sheer design. Subtle sparkling earrings coordinated with the glitz of her gown and could just be peeked beneath her fresh blonde bob. Consider this party szn outfit inspo!

Maya Jama
The Love Island presenter hit up a London Fashion Week party in an appropriately fabulous ensemble. Namely, a George Trochopoulos design fashioned entirely out of see-through black tulle cut to an extreme figure-hugging silhouette. The gown was finished with a tactile tasselled hem for added drama. Layering a simple black bra and knickers beneath the sheer number, Maya styled her bobbed hair in side-parted loose waves and went sans-jewellery to let the dress do all the talking.
