A black father in the US is receiving praise on social media for his responsible parenting actions, after discovering his two sons secretly taking energy drinks and snacks from a CVS store.

According to a video that quickly went viral online, the father himself took his two sons back to the store, asked them to return the items they had taken and apologize to the employee.

“Excuse me, these are my children,” the father said to the CVS employee. “They just took things from your store. I’m sorry. I brought them here today to return them and apologize. If you see them come back here again, kick them out or call the police.”

The father continued to ask his two sons to apologize:

“Go. Give them back and say sorry. Both of you. Both of you stole. Apologize.”

One of the boys bowed his head and said timidly, “I’m sorry.”

The CVS employee responded, “Thank you. I appreciate it.”

Many viewers of the video were moved by the father’s handling of the situation. Instead of scolding or hiding it, he chose to teach his son directly about consequences and honesty.
