SAT . BLAME GAME: Democratic Rep. Friedman Claims Government Shutdown Is “100% Republicans’ Fault”
Washington D.C., November 10, 2025 — As the U.S. government continues to be in a stalemate, Democratic Rep. Rachel Friedman squarely blamed Republicans for the partial shutdown of the federal government.
Speaking at a press conference on Capitol Hill this morning, Friedman emphasized:
“This is 100% their fault. Republicans chose politics over responsibility. They knew the cost of blocking the budget, but they did it anyway — just to score political points.”

According to Friedman, House Republicans rejected the bipartisan budget deal proposed by the Senate, which included essential spending on education, health care, and national security. This has caused hundreds of thousands of federal employees to temporarily leave without pay and many government agencies to temporarily shut down.
Meanwhile, Republican leaders have accused President Joe Biden and the Democratic administration of “fiscal profligacy and lack of discipline,” saying the shutdown is the result of “an economy that is out of control.”
The political situation in Washington is currently at a high level of tension. Both sides have declared their willingness to “stand firm” until they reach a deal that benefits their constituents. However, experts warn that if the shutdown continues, it could cost the economy billions of dollars and undermine people’s confidence in the government’s ability to govern.
In his closing remarks, Friedman said:
“The American people deserve a government that works for them, not one paralyzed by partisan politics.”
The blame game between the two parties continues to escalate, and so far, there is no sign that a new budget deal will be passed soon.
