Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes and Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva are suing Congress, asking a federal judge to greenlight an alternative way to swear in Grijalva following her special election win in September.
Mayes had promised the lawsuit for days, incensed that House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-Louisiana, had not yet sworn in Grijalva and would not set a firm date to do so. Mayes and Grijalva, D-Ariz., are asking the court to give them a path to go around Johnson.
