SAT . Second tragedy strikes Disney in a week — less than a mile from where superfan took her own life
A second guest has died at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida — less than a mile from where a superfan took her own life last week.
Police responded to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground on reports of a “person down” just after 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Inside the Magic reported, citing the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
A man in his 60s was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the sheriff’s office confirmed.

“There are no signs of foul play,” the sheriff’s office said, adding that the circumstances leading to his death remain under investigation.
The tragedy comes just days after another death on the sprawling resort.
Last Tuesday, Summer Equitz, 31, took her own life at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
The Naperville, Illinois, woman and Disney superfan had arrived at the park that day without informing her family.

She died of “multiple blunt impact injuries,” the sheriff’s office said, after earlier reports wrongly stated she was struck by the monorail that passes through the middle of the hotel.
Just 10 months earlier, in a December 2024 Facebook post, Equitz revealed that she was pregnant with her first child.
