LDT “Vince Gill Named 2025 CMA Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award Honoree”
Country music legend Vince Gill has been officially announced as the 2025 CMA Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award honoree — one of the most prestigious recognitions in the genre. The Country Music Association confirmed the news Tuesday morning, calling Gill “a cornerstone voice, musician, and ambassador for country music for more than four decades.”
Gill will receive the honor and be celebrated with an all-star tribute performance during “The 59th Annual CMA Awards,” airing live on November 19.

The award, named after the beloved Willie Nelson, recognizes artists who have made “an exceptional and enduring contribution to country music,” both creatively and culturally. Past recipients include icons such as Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, and George Strait — putting Gill in legendary company.
Throughout his career, Vince Gill has earned 22 Grammy Awards, 18 CMA Awards, and widespread acclaim for his unmatched musicianship, soaring vocals, and heartfelt songwriting. From classics like “Go Rest High on That Mountain” to his work with the Eagles, Gill has remained one of country music’s most respected and beloved figures.
CMA CEO Sarah Trahern praised Gill’s impact, noting, “Vince has shaped generations of artists with grace, humility, and soul. His influence runs deep — not just through his own music, but through his generosity to the entire community.”
Fans can expect a powerful tribute during the broadcast, featuring some of today’s biggest stars honoring Gill’s legacy on one of country music’s biggest nights.
