LDT “Country Legend Charley Pride to Be Honored with Music City Walk of Fame Induction”
Country music trailblazer Charley Pride — the first Black superstar to break barriers in the genre — will be posthumously honored with an induction into the Music City Walk of Fame on November 11 in Nashville.

Pride’s legacy continues to resonate across generations. With over 50 Top 10 hits, including classics like “Kiss an Angel Good Mornin’” and “Is Anybody Goin’ to San Antone,” he redefined what country music could look and sound like. Throughout his career, Pride earned three Grammy Awards, a Lifetime Achievement Award, and membership in the Country Music Hall of Fame, cementing his place among the genre’s all-time greats.
Born in Sledge, Mississippi, Pride overcame racial barriers in the 1960s to become one of RCA Records’ biggest-selling artists, second only to Elvis Presley at the time. His rich baritone voice and genuine storytelling connected deeply with fans, while his courage paved the way for future artists of color in country music.
The Walk of Fame ceremony will celebrate Pride’s enduring influence and his role in shaping the soul of Nashville’s musical identity. Family members, fellow artists, and special guests are expected to attend the event, which organizers say will honor “a man whose music opened doors and hearts across America.”
