It was a full-circle holiday moment at the 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony as Jim Carrey and Taylor Momsen — the beloved stars of the 2000 Christmas classic Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas — reunited onstage, 25 years after the film first warmed hearts.

Carrey, 63, surprised fans by making an unannounced appearance during Momsen’s set with her band The Pretty Reckless, who were inducted for their impact on 21st-century rock. When the two embraced, the crowd erupted into cheers, celebrating one of the most nostalgic and heartwarming reunions of the night.

Momsen, now 32, played the sweet and curious Cindy Lou Who in the 2000 film — the little girl who taught the Grinch the true meaning of Christmas. Standing beside Carrey once again, she laughed, “It’s been 25 years since I asked the Grinch why he stole Christmas… and he still hasn’t given me a straight answer!”

Carrey responded in true Grinch fashion, jokingly growling, “I’ve been in hiding on Mount Crumpit — rock and roll was too loud!”

The reunion was a mix of nostalgia, humor, and genuine affection, with fans calling it “the Christmas gift we didn’t know we needed.”

The moment capped off an emotional night celebrating the power of music, memory, and the enduring magic of stories that bring generations together.
