LDL. Gracie Hunt Says She’d Choose an Alternate Super Bowl Halftime Show Over the NFL’s Official Pick.
Gracie Hunt , daughter of Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt, recently voiced her preference for an alternative to the planned Super Bowl halftime show artist, Bad Bunny , citing a desire for the performance to better reflect what she views as core American and family values.
Appearing on Fox News’ The Will Cain Show , Hunt expressed her strong support for the Turning Point USA alternate halftime show, organized by Erika.
“I really respect Erika for all that she’s done, especially with creating a halftime show for America… everyone, they just need someone to look up to,” the 26-year-old stated.
A Call for Family-Friendly Values
Hunt emphasized the importance of the Super Bowl as a family event, referencing her grandfather, Chiefs founder Lamar Hunt, who coined the term “Super Bowl.”
- She recalled her grandfather’s intention for the event: “He intended it to be something children and families of all ages could come together and watch.”
- Hunt stressed that “football is the attraction,” and the halftime show should not “compromise its character or rely on cheap appeal to draw an audience, especially when that approach can alienate so much of the fan base.”
The Chiefs heiress hinted that she believes Bad Bunny, the artist reported selected by the NFL for the next Super Bowl halftime show, may not meet these standards.
“The NFL honors women, the military, this country, celebrates communities. So, I think that whoever they choose going forward for the halftime show needs to reflect those values more closely ,” Hunt asserted, reiterating her respect for Erika and the Turning Point USA alternative.
NFL Stance Amidst Backlash
The selection of Bad Bunny, described in reports as a “cross-dressing, left-wing, anti-Trumper,” has reported significantly sparked backlash among a segment of the audience.
Despite the criticism and calls for the league to rescind the offer, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has maintained his support for the decision, stating that he believes the choice will be a “uniting” moment for America. The league has reported standing firm in its refusal to choose a different artist.
