I’m Riko, and this is my little brother Max. We were found abandoned in a soggy cardboard box on the side of the road, shaking from the cold and aching with hunger.

’m Riko — and this is my little brother, Max.

We didn’t come into this world asking for much. Just a warm place to sleep, a gentle hand, a chance to belong.
But instead, we were found inside a soggy cardboard box, dumped by the side of the road.
It was cold. We were shivering. And we waited — hoping someone would see us.

People did see us.
Some paused. Some stared.
But no one stopped.

Every time we heard footsteps, we wagged our tails — believing maybe this time someone would care.
But they always walked away.

Maybe they saw Max’s limp and thought he wasn’t worth saving.
Maybe my scars made them uncomfortable.
Whatever the reason… no one chose us.

So, we only had each other.
When the nights get cold, Max leans against me and whispers,

“Riko, are we always going to be alone?”

And I never know what to say.
I just press closer and whisper back,

“Maybe not forever, Max. Maybe tomorrow… someone will care.”

Because even after all the pain, we still believe in love. ❤️

🐾 Adopt. Don’t look away.
