Jimmy Kimmel is firing back after President Donald Trump once again insisted he should be taken off the air.
During his monologue for the Thursday, Nov. 20 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the show’s host, 58, said that he’d woken up that morning to another disgruntled social media post from Trump, 79.
Kimmel told viewers, “A special hello to those of you who are watching from the White House, and you know who you are.”
“I woke up this morning. I’m in bed. My wife comes out of the bathroom. She’s got her phone. She goes, ‘Um, Trump tweeted you should be fired again,’ ” he said, referencing the president’s late-night Truth Social post.Jimmy Kimmel.

“I was like, ‘Oh.’ And then I went downstairs and made bagels for the kids,” the host said of hearing the news. “It’s like late last night, the Angry Orange posted, ‘Why does ABC Fake News keep Jimmy Kimmel, a man with NO TALENT and VERY POOR TELEVISION RATINGS, on the air? Why do the TV syndicates put up with it? Also, totally biased coverage. Get the bum off the air!!!’ ”
“I’m the bum. I’m the bum. And he posted this, I think this is interesting, at 12:49 a.m., 11 minutes after the show ended on the East Coast, which is nice,” Kimmel said.
He continued, “He watches us live. Hi, Mr. President. How are you? Thanks for watching us on TV instead of on YouTube. We appreciate that. And I’ll tell you, it’s viewers like you who keep us on the air, ironically.”
The host also joked that Trump had taken “precious time on the toilet” to post about the show, despite being “in the middle of the biggest sex scandal in the history of the American presidency,” referencing the impending release of the Epstein files.
Kimmel — whose show was previously suspended for six days in September over comments he made following Charlie Kirk’s death — mentioned that Trump had “tried” to get him “fired” previously, adding, “It didn’t work!”

“Mr. President, I admire your tenacity. If you’re watching tonight, which I presume you are, how about this? I’ll go when you go,” the host continued, adding, “It’ll be a team. Let’s ride off into the sunset together like Butch Cassidy and the Suntan Kid.”
“And until then, if I may borrow a phrase from you… Quiet Piggy,” Kimmel quipped, referring to Trump recently making headlines for calling a female reporter “Piggy” while aboard Air Force One.President Donald Trump.

Since returning to the air in late September, Kimmel hasn’t held back on his attacks on Trump and other conservative politicians, including Vice President JD Vance, whom he dubbed Vice President Maybelline.
However, the late-night host has also said that he would be open to having the president on his show.
“I’d love to have Trump on the show, for sure,” he opined during a Bloomberg panel on Oct. 8.

During the conversation, Kimmel also reflected on why he discusses politics more frequently on his show, as he said, “I think maturity is part of it. I think you figure out who you are.”
“This is a very different situation that we’re in now. And also my job, as I see it, is to talk about the news of the day, and these are the big stories of the day pretty much every day,” he said. “He’s on TV all day, every day, so he gives us a lot to use, to deal with. That’s unusual. That’s not how it used to be. You hear him, you see him, he’s just presented himself so frequently, and it’s just more digestible.”
