SAC.“Erika Kirk just dropped a political bombshell: Turning Point’s backing of JD Vance for 2028 is already ‘in the works.’ The cryptic tease has sent insiders scrambling, sparking rumors of secret deals, shifting alliances, and a power play that no one saw coming. Is this the first tremor of a political upheaval that could reshape the 2028 race?”

“That was the thing that my husband was very direct about,” Kirk said on Monday.

Erika Kirk said that Turning Point’s support of Vice President JD Vance in a possible 2028 presidential election bid is “in the works.”

Kirk, the wife of late conservative activist Charlie Kirk, made the comments to Megyn Kelly during her live show in Glendale, Arizona, over the weekend.

“That was the thing that my husband was very direct about, it was, interestingly enough, one of the last few conversations we had was how intentional he was about supporting JD for 28,”Kirk said to Kelly.

Kirk’s comments come as Vance has taken on a larger role in spreading Turning Point’s message following Charlie Kirk’s death.

The 31-year-old Turning Point USA founder and prominent supporter of President Donald Trump was shot and killed in September while he was speaking near a “Prove Me Wrong” tent on campus in Orem, roughly 40 miles south of Salt Lake City.

In October, Vance visited the University of Mississippi, carrying out Charlie Kirk’s tour of American universities by delivering remarks and engaging in a Q&A with students in Oxford. Shortly after Charlie’s death, Vance hosted an episode of Kirk’s podcast featuring members of the Trump administration who shared their memories of the late conservative activist.

It should not come as a surprise, though, that the Turning Point organization is working behind the scenes to support a possible Vance presidential run. The vice president has spoken at length about how Charlie Kirk advocated for his selection as Trump’s running mate.

Although Vance has not made any significant movement toward a 2028 presidential run, he told Fox News in a recent interview that he’s currently focused on his job as vice president and the 2026 midterm elections but will sit down with President Trump to discuss the possibility of a run following next year’s election.

“We will win the midterms, to everything we can, and then after that I’m going to sit down with the president and talk to him about it,” Vance said earlier this month.
