dq. Former Steelers Super Bowl Champion Quits FBI After 8 Years — “I Couldn’t Arrest People for Speaking Their Truth”

Washington, D.C. – October 30, 2025

The Pittsburgh Steelers community is in shock as a familiar name from their Super Bowl XLIII roster makes headlines for a powerful reason off the field. After eight years serving as a federal agent, a respected figure has stepped away from the FBI over a matter of conscience.

That man is Carey Davis, the former Steelers fullback and Super Bowl champion, who officially resigned from the Bureau this week. Davis, 43, joined the FBI in 2017, four years after retiring from the NFL in 2013. Known during his playing days for toughness and selflessness, he carried the same qualities into federal service — until his principles were put to the test.

Recently, the growing “No King” protests across the United States have led to hundreds of arrests. Many demonstrators, some peaceful, have been detained for violating public order laws. Seeing those scenes unfold, Davis reportedly felt torn between his oath as an agent and his belief in personal freedom.

“I’ve always believed in serving my country, but I can’t be part of arresting people just for expressing what they believe,” Davis said in a heartfelt statement. “In America, freedom of speech isn’t a privilege — it’s a promise. And I couldn’t keep doing my job if that promise was being broken.”

The former fullback — who played for the Steelers from 2007 to 2011 and won a championship in Super Bowl XLIII — said the decision was not about politics, but about integrity. Witnessing peaceful citizens being restrained for their voices, he felt it was time to walk away.

Davis’ resignation has gone viral, drawing widespread praise for his moral courage. Former teammates, fans, and activists alike have called his move “a statement of heart over hierarchy.”

Now living in

Michigan, Davis says he plans to dedicate his next chapter to community mentorship and youth advocacy, helping young people find direction and speak up for what’s right.

North Carolina Police Arrest Suspect After Explosives Found at Panthers Stadium Parking Lot During Loss to Steelers

Published August 22, 2025

Authorities in North Carolina arrested a man who allegedly brought explosives to the parking lot of Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte during the Carolina Panthers’ 19-10 preseason loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The suspect, identified as 40-year-old Cameron Lee Smith of Washington, North Carolina, was charged with possession of a weapon of mass destruction, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and carrying a concealed gun, officials confirmed.

According to police, the incident unfolded around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, shortly after kickoff. Stadium security spotted Smith slumped over in his vehicle inside a restricted parking area and called for law enforcement assistance.

When deputies approached, they observed drug paraphernalia in plain sight. Upon further search, authorities found a handgun, crystal meth, and what appeared to be multiple explosive devices inside the vehicle.

The area was immediately secured, with fans and vehicles redirected away from the affected section of the lot. Emergency services and bomb technicians, including U.S. Marines from Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, were called in to neutralize the scene.

Businesses nearby and parts of the stadium complex were temporarily shut down as a precaution. No injuries were reported, and the game itself continued under heightened security presence.

Later that evening, a search of Smith’s residence reportedly uncovered a homemade military-grade grenade, as well as another device dating back to World War I or World War II, raising additional alarm about his intent.

Smith was transported to the Mecklenburg County Detention Center, where he is being held without bond. Officials praised stadium security and local law enforcement for quick actions that prevented a potentially dangerous situation.
