Erika Kirk had an emotional display while discussing her late husband, Charlie Kirk, on Fox News.

She sat down with Jesse Watters on Nov. 5 for an exclusive interview. During the interview, Erika opened up about the early days of her relationship with Charlie, describing what it was like to watch him grow in his career. She explained how she supported him over the years, emphasizing her belief in Charlie’s Turning Point USA.

Throughout the interview, Jesse showed Erika clips of the conservative commentator, capturing her reaction on camera. After watching one video, Erika broke down in tears. “This is the longest video I’ve watched of him,” she said as she sniffled after dabbing her eyes. Erika bowed her head as she said, “Just give me a second.”

After Erika took a few deep breaths, Jesse, who was calm and collected, told Erika, “Take your time.”

The interview, which was prerecorded, paused. When Erika returned to the screen, she had finished crying, though, her eyes still remained teary-eyed and the interview held a somber mood.

To patch over the time cut, Fox News displayed photos of Erika and Charlie. “Charlie was on a mission to save western civilization,” Jesse said to prompt the interview forward. “That’s what you signed up for?”

Erika was quick to correct him. “Well, no. I didn’t sign up for anything. I just married the love of my life. It just so happens that that’s what he was doing,” she explained.

Charlie was assassinated on Sept. 10, 2025 while at a speaking engagement on a Utah campus. He was shot in the neck before being rushed to Timpanogos Regional Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

President Donald Trump broke the news on Truth Social. He wrote, “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”

FBI Director Kash Patel quickly put his agents on the case. “We are closely monitoring reports of the tragic shooting involving Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University. Our thoughts are with Charlie, his loved ones, and everyone affected. Agents will be on the scene quickly and the FBI stands in full support of the ongoing response and investigation,” he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Charlie’s alleged killer was identified on Sept. 12 as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson. He was taken into custody after allegedly confessing to the crime to his father, who reportedly turned him in.
