BB.HOME LATE NIGHT: Brock Purdy Gets News His Brother Chubba Is Missing – Might Miss This Weekend To Get Home
San Francisco, California – Bad news hit San Francisco 49ers star quarterback Brock Purdy tonight (October 31, 2025): His younger brother, Nevada Wolf Pack quarterback Chubba Purdy, was reported missing after practice in Reno. Nevada police are conducting an urgent search, and Brock may miss this weekend’s big game against the Kansas City Chiefs to return home to his family in Arizona.

Chubba, 24, born July 30, 2001, is Brock’s youngest brother (26). He played for Florida State and Nebraska before moving to Nevada, where he completed 103-of-187 passes for 1,085 yards, 7 TDs, and 8 INTs in 23 games. A talented dual-threat QB, Chubba is considered a “clone” of Brock, who was named Mr. Irrelevant in 2022 but now leads the 49ers to the Super Bowl. The brothers grew up in Queen Creek, Arizona, with their older sister, Whittney (a former softballer at Southeastern University), under the guidance of their father, Shawn, a former minor league baseball player.
According to family sources, Chubba was last seen at 5 p.m. local time today, after withdrawing from the transfer portal and committing to stay in Nevada. His phone was off, and his car was left on campus. Police suspect he may have been involved in an accident or health issue, but have not ruled out volunteering. Brock, who leads the NFL with 2,500 passing yards and 18 TDs this season, canceled his press conference and took an emergency flight to Reno. On Instagram, he posted: “Praying for my brother. Family first. #PrayForChubba.”
Coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed: “Brock is our main man, but family comes first. We’ll support him – maybe Joshua Dobbs as a backup.” 49ers fans on X exploded: “Brock skipping a game to find his brother? That’s a real QB! #NinersPray.” With the 49ers leading the NFC West, losing Brock could change the outcome of the Chiefs – where he lost to Patrick Mahomes in Super Bowl LVIII.
The football community is praying for Chubba – a guy who was once sought after by Cal and San Jose State. Brock, who gave 10 cars to linemen last Christmas, now needs the strength of his fans. Hopefully Chubba will be okay soon. Updates will follow!
