HH. BREAKING: “I’m still romanticising growing old with him — even if he’s no longer here to see it.” Erika Kirk just shared a confession that stopped millions in their tracks.

Charlie Kirk’s wife Erika has shared a montage of videos of them together on her first birthday since he was shot dead.
Kirk, a conservative commentator, was killed while appearing at a Utah university on September 10. A man in his 20s is currently in custody charged with his murder.
Taking to her Instagram on Thursday night (November 20), his widow Erika shared a compilation of clips of her and her husband, saying that she wondered what it would have been like growing old with him — something that she says that she ‘still romanticises’ following his death.

‘I always loved celebrating you, and maybe because it was a reflection of how beautifully you always celebrated me,’ Ms Kirk wrote. I romanticized growing old with you, the love of my life. I used to wonder what our faces would look like with wisdom-wrinkles.
‘You’d always tell me how you hoped I’d keep my long hair even when we were both gray and also that I’d always wear white (because it was the color you loved me wearing the most). We’d laugh about how you’d probably still be out on college campuses in your 80s, doing “Prove Me Wrong” campus events because you loved those students.
‘And then we’d both start to tear up when talking about our babies growing older and having a family of their own. A full life.’

‘And today, I find myself, in some way, still romanticizing growing old with you, just in different locations,’ she continued. ‘So as I blow out candles this year with an ache so deep I pray no one ever has to feel it, I’m reminded that each day, each moment, each birthday…you’re with me. Not in the way I once dreamed, but in the way God has mercifully allowed.’
Ms Kirk thanked her supporters for their well-wishes on her birthday, adding: ‘I have no words. All the texts. All the calls. All the letters. All the flowers. I feel so deeply loved. To all of the @tpusastudents your videos were so healing to my heart, to my @turningpointusa family, to my dear friends, literally all of you, your presence in my life is divine and I’ll never ever take it for granted. God bless you all.’
Ms Kirk recently spoke about her husband’s death, with her comments surrounding his death raising eyebrows online.

Appearing on Jesse Watters Primetime, Ms Kirk said that she described seeing a ‘smirk’ on her husband’s face at the hospital after he died, with her saying: ‘That smirk to me is that look of, “you thought you could stop what I’ve built.”
‘”You thought that you could end this vision, this movement, this revival, you thought you could do that by murdering me. You got my body, you didn’t get my soul.”‘
Kirk went on to say she believed her husband would choose to remain in the afterlife rather than return to Earth, if given the choice.
‘He’d say no,’ she said. ‘If it meant exchanging his life for what his death would be a catalyst for.’
