RL World’s richest man Elon Musk fires back at Billie Eilish after she calls him ‘pathetic’
The world’s richest person Elon Musk responded sharply to Billie Eilish after the singer criticized billionaires and labeled him “pathetic” in a recent award speech.
“She’s not the sharpest tool in the shed,” he wrote in a post on X on Monday, as reported by Forbes.

Eilish urged Musk to consider a more charitable approach with his fortune. The 23-year-old singer posted a series of infographics on her Instagram story last week, suggesting ways Musk could use his wealth to address global issues such as world hunger, endangered species conservation, and rebuilding war-torn Gaza, according to Billboard. Eilish reiterated her criticism, calling Musk a “f–king pathetic p–sy b–ch coward” in a subsequent Instagram story.
Musk, who reportedly donated nearly $1.9 billion worth of Tesla shares to unnamed charities in 2022 and $5.7 billion in 2021, has faced criticism for his philanthropic efforts. A March 2024 New York Times article highlighted that unlike fellow billionaire Bill Gates, who has used his wealth to improve healthcare across Africa, Musk’s charitable work has been described as “haphazard and largely self-serving,” often providing substantial tax breaks while benefiting his businesses.

The “Bad Guy” singer has been outspoken in her criticism of billionaires in recent weeks. Earlier this month, during her acceptance speech at the WSJ Magazine Innovator Awards, she questioned the concentration of extreme wealth. Addressing an audience that included billionaires, she urged them to use their fortunes for the greater good. “If you are a billionaire, why are you a billionaire? No hate, but give your money away, shorties,” she said.
The Tesla CEO, with an estimated net worth exceeding $466 billion, could become the world’s first trillionaire after Tesla shareholders approved a record $1 trillion payout for him on Nov. 6. With such wealth, Musk could theoretically purchase gold reserves, every home in Hawaii, hundreds of skyscrapers, thousands of yachts, and even entire car companies.
