Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will receive one of the evening’s top distinctions — the Entertainment Icon Award — at the 8th Annual American Black Film Festival (ABFF) Honors, set for February 16, 2026, at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills.
The accolade recognizes Johnson’s long-standing influence across sports entertainment, film, and television. Event producers and ABFF co-founders Jeff and Nicole Friday praised Johnson as a rare figure whose career “embodies global impact, cultural reach, and unmatched work ethic,” calling him “one of the most beloved and influential entertainers of his generation.” (Source: Variety, The Celeb Post)

The ABFF Honors, an invitation-only dinner celebration, pays tribute to artists and storytellers shaping the modern landscape of Black cinema and entertainment. This year’s ceremony will also spotlight the creative team behind the film Sinners — Ryan Coogler, Zinzi Coogler, and Sev Ohanian — as well as honorees Jennifer Hudson, Damson Idris, and Salli Richardson-Whitfield.
