RM Bad Bunny dominates the 2025 Latin Grammys with major wins, including Album of the Year

LAS VEGAS — The 2025 Latin Grammy Awards turned into a celebration of all things Bad Bunny. The Puerto Rican icon captured the night’s top honor, Album of the Year, for his acclaimed project “Debí Tirar Más Fotos.” After acknowledging his family and creative team, he closed his speech with a heartfelt message: “Puerto Rico, I love you, thank you.”
His words echoed the spirit of an album deeply rooted in his connection to the island.
“I want to dedicate this award to all the children and young people of Latin America, especially those from Puerto Rico,” he said. “Never stop dreaming or being yourselves. Always remember where you come from, and where you’re heading. There are many ways to show love for our homeland — we choose music.”
The artist, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, set the tone early. He opened the evening by claiming the música urbana album award, later returning to accept música urbana song for “DTmF.” “I never rehearse my speeches,” he joked in Spanish. He also delivered a standout performance of “Weltita” with Chuwi.
Bad Bunny wasn’t the only one celebrating: Song of the Year went to Karol G, Andrés Jael Correa Ríos, and Édgar Barrera for “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido,” while Record of the Year was awarded to Alejandro Sanz for “¿Y Ahora Qué?”
The 26th annual Latin Grammys brought an energetic mix of artists and genres to the MGM Grand stage. Raphael, the 2025 Person of the Year, moved the crowd with emotional performances of “Qué Sabe Nadie” and “Mi Gran Noche,” prompting a massive sing-along.
The show opened with a tribute to Santana: Maluma performed the legendary “Oye Como Va” alongside Santana himself, followed by a medley featuring Christian Nodal on “Corazón Espinoza” and Grupo Frontera performing their 2025 collaboration “Me Retiro.”
The night packed in dozens of dynamic performances — Aitana with lush electro-pop, Sanz with a nostalgic medley, and Rauw Alejandro bringing a slice of Puerto Rico to Vegas with songs like “Khé?” and “Carita Linda.” Danny Lux, Kakalo, and Ivan Cornejo delivered fresh Mexicana sounds, while Pepe Aguilar energized the room with “El Cihualteco” and “El Fuereño.”
Elena Rose offered a softer moment with “Me Lo Merezco,” and Karol G teamed up with Mexican legend Marco Antonio Solís for a moving duet on “Coleccionando Heridas.”
Regional Mexican giants Grupo Frontera and Fuerza Regida united for their hit “Me Jalo,” with Fuerza Regida continuing with “Marlboro Rojo,” a track from their chart-topping 2025 album “111xpantia.” Carín León later showcased his signature raspy vocals on “Ahí Estabas Tú” before joining Kacey Musgraves for “Lost in Translation.” He went on to win contemporary Mexican album for “Palabra De To’s (Seca).”
Other memorable segments included Morat’s pop-rock performance of “Faltas Tú,” Ca7riel and Paco Amoroso’s artistic flair, Joaquina’s commanding “Quise Quererte,” and Liniker’s joyful “Negona Dos Olhos Terríveis.” Norteño legends Los Tigres del Norte also delivered one of the night’s most celebratory moments.
Best New Artist went to Paloma Morphy.
Gloria Estefan earned Traditional Tropical Album for “Raíces” before performing “La Vecina” and “Chirriqui Chirri,” the latter with Nathy Peluso. Christian Nodal later picked up ranchero/mariachi album for “¿Quién + Como Yo?”
Many awards were announced during the pre-show Premiere Ceremony. Bad Bunny added another win for reggaeton performance with “Voy A Llevarte Pa Pr.” Argentine duo Ca7riel and Paco Amoroso enjoyed a huge night, taking home five trophies — short and long form video, alternative song, alternative music album for “Papota,” and pop song for “El dia del amigo” — making them the most-awarded act of 2025.
Hosted by Maluma and Roselyn Sánchez, the three-hour broadcast delivered a night full of celebration, emotion, and unforgettable performances from across the Latin music world.
