Tim Tebow Marries Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters
In early January 2020, former professional football player and Heisman trophy winner Tim Tebow married former Miss Universe 2017, Demi-Leigh.
The couple were married in Demi’s home country of South Africa in January of 2020. Demi and Tim share a deep-rooted faith in Jesus Christ and serve in ministry around the world together.
In 2024, she authored “A Crown That Lasts: You Are Not Your Label”, a memoir reflecting on her journey, identity, faith and purpose.
On July 6, 2025, Demi and Tim welcomed their first child together, a beautiful baby girl named Daphne Reign Tebow.
Demi Announces The Passing Of Her Father
Despite moving to the United States, Demi remains extremely close with her family, often taking trips with Tim back to her home country to visit. Demi posts regularly with her mother, as well as her father and her stepmother. Her half‑sister, Franje, was born with a rare condition and passed away at the age of 13 in 2019.
On Monday (October 20), Demi posted that her sweet father, Bennie Peters, who she lovingly referred to as “Pappa,” passed away Thursday (October 16), from pancreatic cancer.
“It’s with a heavy yet deeply grateful heart that I share my sweet dad went to be with Jesus last Thursday,” she wrote.
Demi shared that while the years since his diagnosis have been extremely difficult, her Pappa never lost his “humor, kindness, compassion, or his deep love for Jesus and for our family.”
She posted a carousel of precious memories with her father, thanking him for showing her what true faith in Jesus looks like and reminiscing on the ways he brightened her own life.
