The Country Music Association has announced that Vince Gill will receive the coveted Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award during the 2025 CMA Awards — a recognition reserved only for artists who have reshaped the landscape of country music. The ceremony takes place November 19 and will air live on ABC.
Gill, 68, stands among the most decorated performers in the genre’s history. With more than 30 million albums sold, 20 studio records, and dozens of charting singles, his influence spans over four decades. His 22 Grammy Awards — the most of any male country artist — mark him as a defining voice of the genre.
CMA executives call Gill “a cornerstone of country music,” noting not only his songwriting and musicianship but his philanthropy, mentorship of younger artists, and long-standing role in preserving Nashville’s musical heritage.
