1. Erika Kirk reveals what she told television networks that reached out following Jimmy Kimmel’s remarks about Charlie’s death.

In the wake of Jimmy Kimmel’s controversial remarks about Charlie Kirk’s death on his late night talk show, the network behind the show reached out to Erika Kirk. She said that they wanted to know if she wanted an apology from Kimmel and if she would like to appear on his show.

She told Watters that her message for Kimmel would be the same as the message she sent to Sinclair, the network behind Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

“The same thing I told Sinclair. They asked, ‘Do you want Jimmy to give you an apology? Do you want to be on the show? How can we make it right?’” Erika recalled, saying that she responded through her team and told the company, “This is not our issue. Not our mess. If you want to say ‘I’m sorry’ to someone who’s grieving, go ahead. But if that’s not in your heart, don’t do it. I don’t want it. I don’t need it.”

2. Erika shares her thoughts on the death penalty.

Jesse Watters asked Erika if she thinks Tyler Robinson should receive the death penalty if he in convicted of Charlie Kirk’s murder. She replied that she doesn’t want to be the one to make that decision.

“I do not want this man’s blood on my ledger when I stand before the Lord. I want the government to decide. It’s Biblical to. Justice will ultimately be served,” she said.https://www.facebook.com/plugins/video.php?height=314&href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Freel%2F1319964496109747%2F&show_text=false&width=560&t=0

3. What Erika told her children about Charlie’s death.

Erika and Charlie Kirk are parents of two children: a 3-year-old daughter, Gigi, and a 1-year-old son whose name hasn’t been publicly shared, but who is often referred to as Junior.

The couple was careful not to share much about their children, only posting photos without their faces visible. However, Charlie Kirk made it clear that he loved being a dad, as evidenced by photos and statements about his love for his family.https://www.instagram.com/reel/DOpOuoQCY6v/embed/captioned/?cr=1&v=14&wp=675&rd=https%3A%2F%2Fcountryrebel.com&rp=%2F5-memorable-moments-from-erika-kirks-first-interview-since-her-husbands-death%2F#%7B%22ci%22%3A0%2C%22os%22%3A3718.9000000059605%2C%22ls%22%3A1591.2000000178814%2C%22le%22%3A2356.800000011921%7D

When Erika and Charlie’s daughter asked where her daddy was following his death, Erika told her that he went on a work trip with Jesus. She told Jesse Watters that Gigi still asks about her dad, and Erika lets her know how she can “talk to daddy.”

“If ever you want to talk to daddy, you just look up to the sky and start talking to him. He can hear you. He’s always in your heart,” Erika told her daughter.

“You know, daddy’s in Heaven,” to which Gigi replied, “Do you think I could go sometime?” Erika reminded the toddler that “we will all go one day.”

4. Erika described her last moments with Charlie and how she found out about the shooting.

In one of the most emotional moments of the interview, Erika recalled receiving the phone call with news of her husband’s shooting.

Kirk told Watters that she and Charlie had slept in different rooms the night before his speaking engagement in Utah so that he “could get a good night’s sleep.” At Charlie’s insistence, Erika stayed in Arizona with her mother who was struggling with some health issues, and Charlie went on to Utah without her.

Erika was with her mom at a doctor’s office when she got a call from Turning Point USA Chief of Staff Mikey McCoy.

“I’ll never forget, him just being like, Charlie’s been shot. He’s been shot, get the kids. Get security, get the kids, get the kids, he’s been shot. I sprinted out of the treatment center and just collapsed in the middle of the parking lot,” Erika remembered.

Immediately upon hearing about the shooting, Erika flew to Utah and went straight to the hospital where Charlie was. She told Jesse Watters what it was like walking into the room and seeing her husband’s body.

She asked to see her husband’s body, but was advised against it. Erika couldn’t wait and went to the room where her husband’s body was. She told Watters that Charlie looked “so alive. He was still warm, and his eyes were slightly open. It was so powerful, Jesse.”

Erika continued, “We walked into that room – he had this smirk on his face. That smirk to me is that look of ‘You thought you could stop what I’ve built. You thought that you could end this vision, this movement, this revival. You thought you could do that by murdering me. You got my body. You didn’t get my soul.’”

5. Erika hasn’t seen Charlie Kirk’s assassination video and hopes she never does.

Despite the widespread publishing of videos showing the shooting that killed Charlie Kirk, his wife has never seen it, and doesn’t plan to.

“I never saw the video. I never will see it. I never want to see it,” Erika said. “Certain things you see in your life that you can never unsee. There’s certain things you see in your life that mark your soul forever. I don’t want my husband’s public assassination to be something l ever see.”

She called those who “enjoy watching” her husband’s assassination “quite literally sick.”
