STEELERS NATION MOURNS: NFL legend “Mean” Joe Greene – the eternal symbol of the “Steel Curtain” – has passed away after a long battle with a terminal illness.

His passing is a great loss not only to the Pittsburgh Steelers, but to the entire NFL community. During his illustrious career, Joe Greene was the soul of the legendary defense, who laid the foundation for the Steelers’ golden era in the 1970s with 4 Super Bowl championships.

Fans called him the heart and soul of the team, a symbol of will, strength and indomitable spirit. Although the “Steel Curtain” has now collapsed, Joe Greene’s fighting spirit will forever live in the hearts of Steelers Nation.
