LDT “Grupo Frontera to Make Grand Ole Opry Debut”

Grupo Frontera, the norteño-cumbia band from Edinburg, Texas, is set to perform at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry on November 7, 2025, as part of the venue’s centennial celebrations. This marks a significant milestone for the five-member group, known for blending regional Mexican music with contemporary influences.

The band’s latest album, Jugando a Que No Pasa Nada, showcases their evolving sound, drawing inspiration from country artists like George Strait and Morgan Wallen. Earlier this year, Grupo Frontera captivated audiences with a country rendition of their hit song “Por Qué Será” during an NPR Tiny Desk performance, featuring the pedal steel guitar—a hallmark of American country music.

Since their formation in 2019, Grupo Frontera has gained widespread recognition, including a viral norteño cover of Morat’s “No Se Va” in 2022. Their collaboration with Bad Bunny and performances at major festivals like Coachella have further solidified their place in the music industry.

Tickets for their Grand Ole Opry debut are available online, starting at $51. The performance is part of the Opry’s year-long centennial celebration, highlighting the venue’s rich history and its role in shaping country music.

Grupo Frontera’s upcoming performance at the Grand Ole Opry signifies a cultural bridge between regional Mexican music and country traditions, reflecting the evolving landscape of American music.
